Afton is Granny Jo's 5th daughter.
Around the time Afton was a senior in high school, Granny Jo moved to the Mesa area to join her husband, Robert Williams. When they arrived in Mesa, no Robert Williams was to be found. When Afton was a senior, she attended and graduated from Mesa High School. After staying a short time in Mesa, Granny Jo returned to Salt Lake City to live.
