Sugar and Rusty

Blanche was commonly and affectionately called Sugar.
This picture shows her spending time with her son, Rusty.

Sugar

Blanche Williams was born to Else Johanne Anne Marie Nybo and Robert Adelbert Williams on the 10th of April in 1921.  Blanche was known by the nickname of Sugar in the family.  Sugar married John Elmo Henrichsen and they had a son named Rusty.  Sugar lived her life in the Salt Lake area and passed away in 1980.

I believe that Blanche Williams Henrichsen is standing on the right side of this picture.
With the information from Rusty, Blanche's son, this picture was taken in Provo, in front of the house that was built by Erick Christian Henrichsen, Rusty's great-grandfather.  This majestic old house was built in the early 1900's and is still standing according to Rusty.

Rusty wrote back the following concerning this photo.
From left to right - Naomi Crandall, Helen Adams, Beulah Henrichsen, Elizabeth Henrichsen, Amy Klauck, Evelyn Wolsey, Ladean Henrichsen, Bessie Henrichsen, and my mother. The six on the left are my dad's sisters except for his mother the third from the left. The other two are his sisters-in-law.

It has been many years since this history of Granny Jo was compiled by Aunt Pearl.  She had a very strong feeling at the time that her grandmother's story needed to be told.  The experience of writing this history brought Aunt Pearl and her maternal grandmother closer together.  She found the great internal strength and faith this pioneer woman possessed.  The promise of Elijah of sealing families was truly felt through this writing experience.  Aunt Pearl hopes that her history will draw her closer to you as well.
