An art project

This lovely backpack was part of an 8th grade art project that Melissa was required to complete.  She worked with a partner who had an equal lack of artistic ability and made a paper-mâché replica of a backpack complete with a sleeping bag.  Her art teacher, Mr. Jim Ward, was impressed with the amount of time spent on this backpack even though he felt that the idea of the product lacked creativity.

The picture was taken in the new part of the house in what is the kitchen now.  Melissa is peeking around on the right with Chrissy pulling on the straps to the left and G.T. is just chilling in the back.

Giddy Up at Pappadaddio's

Gerald's good friend Larry, kept his horses at PappaDaddio's place on Power Road for many years.  Larry in turn helped PappaDaddio maintain his property there.  It was a win-win for both men.  Larry would allow the grandchildren to ride his horses.  Here we have Melissa and little sister, Chrissy riding one of the horses.

If you look closely, you will see PappaDaddio, Christopher, and G.T. in the background.

Oh, the story behind the picture

The story is quite simple.
Chrissy loved her older sister so much that she wanted to be and do everything that her sister Melissa did.  Melissa is 12 years older than Chrissy.  They shared a bedroom in the new part of the house, which for some reason has become known as Chrissy's room.  Melissa was old enough to have homework to do for school.  Well, Chrissy needed "homework" too, so we have to go out and buy coloring books and such, so Chrissy could do homework too.  As you can see in the picture, Chrissy is even copying the way they sit on the bed while they are reading.  Melissa set a good example for her little sister Chrissy to follow.  It is no wonder that they are so close now in life, talking to each other on a daily basis.
I love my little girls.

At the Garden Tomb

When we visited Melissa in Jerusalem, we had the opportunity to visit the Garden Tomb.  This photo was taken at the back of the garden.  It is from this point that you can see the Hill of the Skull or Golgotha. Mikkel is giving Aunt Pearl moose antlers while Melissa is giving him bunny ears.
