Marie, the family photographer

This photo is of the Connie and Gerry family at the 1901 house in Mesa.
In the front we have Pearl and Gerald.
In the back row we have PappaDaddio, Bill holding Frihoff and Connie holding Petrea.
In the back corner we have man's best friend.
Since Marie seems to be nonexistent in this photo, I would guess she is the photographer.

Hugs for Dad

Bill is standing behind his dad on the left, giving him a hug.
It would seem that PappaDaddio and Bill are sharing an outing out in the desert.


Jeremy commented - I'm guessing this is my Dad's childhood friend Guadalupe in the picture. Anyone know for sure? They used to run around together playing Robin Hood, and Guadalupe gave my dad a copy of the book, with a note inside the front cover that said, "Billy and Guadalupe, best friends". It's old and battered, but I still have it.

Sling Shots

Did they ever hit what they were shooting at?

Family Campouts

The Allen family annual camp-outs were the highlights for many people.  It was fun to see how much the grandchildren had grown and how much the older generation had changed (aged).  PappaDaddio was famous for the work he put into the camp-outs to make sure everyone had a great time.  Here is a photo of PappaDaddio and his son, Bill at one of these camp-outs.

Bill

Bill is the oldest child of Connie and Gerry Allen.

The couch in the picture has a unique pattern and is probably remembered by many of his siblings.  Also, behind him on the wall is a picture.
I could not enhance it enough to determine what it is but maybe someone remembers.

Frihoff & his guns

Frihoff enjoys shooting guns.  He enjoys skeet and other target shooting with his shotguns.  

According to this photo, Frihoff's interest in guns began a long time ago.  Frihoff is front and center in this photo.  If you look closely he is holding a toy pistol and wearing a really cute pair of holsters. 

Frihoff's dad (PappaDaddio) and brother (Gerald) are standing behind him to the right. Bill is jumping on the trampoline while Pearl is sitting on the trampoline watching him.

Bill Graduating

 Bill's group photo of his graduating kindergarten class.  In the top photo Bill is in the front row, the sixth student from the right.  In the bottom photo Bill is in the middle row on the far right end.  Bill, Marie and Pearl attended a Catholic sponsored school for kindergarten.

My bet would be that Bill and Marie are all dressed up and ready to go to church.  Bill and Marie are the oldest of Connie and Gerry's kids.  They have always had a very good friendship and a close bond.  The background would suggest that this picture was taken in the Gilbert area.

Granny Jo with Grandchildren

Granny Jo is standing by Marie, Bill and Rusty.  Marie and Bill are the children of Gerald (PappaDaddio) and Afton.  Rusty is the son of Blanche (Sugar) Williams and Daddy Moe.

We've caught the Easter Bunny

Bill has caught the Easter Bunny and Frihoff and has successfully contained them in the watering barrel.  My question would be, is there water in the barrel or not?  This picture would have been taken in the backyard at the 1901 Mesa Dr. home in Mesa, Arizona.

Sling Shot Shooting

Taking time out to shoot those homemade sling shots out in the desert.  I do not know if Pearl and Gerald are just waiting for their turn or if they were too little.  The best part of the photo is the correct shooting form Marie is demonstrating in this picture.  "Rotate hip and shoot".

Just Missing My Pants

It looks like we are all ready to go to church and all dressed in our Sunday best.
No wait just a second, Gerald, go get your pants on.

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning found the kids standing by the tree holding their presents.
No wait, Gerald does not have any presents.
Maybe he is still looking for those pants or was hoping to get some pants as a Christmas gift.

The President Hotel

Bill served his LDS mission in Taiwan.  This picture was taken while Bill was on his mission.
He is at the President Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan.
