Playing Dominoes

This photo is of the Connie and Gerry family at the 1901 house in Mesa.
In the front we have Pearl and Gerald.
In the back row we have PappaDaddio, Bill holding Frihoff and Connie holding Petrea.
In the back corner we have man's best friend.
Since Marie seems to be nonexistent in this photo, I would guess she is the photographer.

The Prize Steer

Gerald was a member of Future Farmers of America in high school.
As his animal project, he raised a steer which he showed at competitions and an auction.
Here is Gerald posing with his steer.
It is a very good looking steer.

Frihoff & his guns

Frihoff enjoys shooting guns.  He enjoys skeet and other target shooting with his shotguns.  

According to this photo, Frihoff's interest in guns began a long time ago.  Frihoff is front and center in this photo.  If you look closely he is holding a toy pistol and wearing a really cute pair of holsters. 

Frihoff's dad (PappaDaddio) and brother (Gerald) are standing behind him to the right. Bill is jumping on the trampoline while Pearl is sitting on the trampoline watching him.

Rocking Horse

As a young child, Gerald was so full of energy that a rocking horse was bought to help wear him out.  As the story goes Gerald would even rock himself to sleep on the rocking horse.  He would rock until he passed out from exhaustion and would fall off the rocking horse onto his bed.

Have you ever wondered what would have happened if he fell off the wrong side of the horse?  After hitting the floor would he have gotten back on the horse and repeated the process until he fell off the right side of the horse?

Regardless, this photo give some validity to the stories about Gerald and his rocking horse.

Frihoff in the box

There are so many photos of Frihoff in boxes and water troughs, that one has to wonder whether the way to babysit Frihoff was to put him in a box.
Was Frihoff some sort of an escape artist?
Perhaps it was the easiest way to keep track of him.
Maybe Frihoff just liked being in boxes.
Who knows.

This photo shows four of Connie and Gerry's kids.  Of course, Frihoff is in the box.  From left to right we have:  Gerald, Marie and Pearl.

It looks like the photo was taken at the 1901 house on the cement slab in the backyard.

Gerald is outside playing with friends or neighbors.  Gerald in the young boy in the front and center of the photo.

Weekends in the Desert

This picture is a good representation of the life the Allen children lived when they were young.  This picture is of Gerald Jr. by the old Jeep that provided countless hours of fun and adventure.  Those times together as a family helped shape the families we have today.

Sling Shot Shooting

Taking time out to shoot those homemade sling shots out in the desert.  I do not know if Pearl and Gerald are just waiting for their turn or if they were too little.  The best part of the photo is the correct shooting form Marie is demonstrating in this picture.  "Rotate hip and shoot".

Just Missing My Pants

It looks like we are all ready to go to church and all dressed in our Sunday best.
No wait just a second, Gerald, go get your pants on.

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning found the kids standing by the tree holding their presents.
No wait, Gerald does not have any presents.
Maybe he is still looking for those pants or was hoping to get some pants as a Christmas gift.

A little Gerald

This picture is if Gerald Jr. at the lake.
He is wearing the life vest and riding in the boat driven by his father Gerald (or PappaDaddio).
The family loved going to the lake and spent many weekends there.

6 bundles of joy

Gerry and Connie were bless to have 6 beautiful and wonderful children come into their family.  Each child is very unique in personality and abilities, yet each shared a common bond to the parents. This bond still exists in the lives of their 6 children.
